One thing that makes a good visit to the Cotswold Lakes, is finding a cosy Café which serves great coffee, home made food, cooked on the premises and has a welcoming atmosphere!
Jennie’s Kitchen, on Friday’s Ham Lane, is a kitchen café, tucked away, not far from the Thames Path and surrounding lakes. Whether you are at the beginning of your adventure, in the middle or as a final goal, arriving either by car, bicycle or walking, you will receive a warm welcome.
Jennie’s Kitchen boosts a large array of teas, including herbal, locally sourced coffee and a range of soft drinks. Jennie’s Kitchen has the benefit of a liquor license, allowing wine, bottled beer and spirits to be served all year round.
The menus’ cater, separately, for breakfast, light lunch, afternoon tea, children and has a dedicated vegan menu. There is an extensive range of genuine homemade cakes, all of which, have been baked on the premises allowing to include both vegan, dairy free and gluten free options.
The owners are very proud of the fact, that “it is not just the cake that is made at Jennie’s but, all of our food is made at Jennie’s and where it may not be necessary, as most have options within the menus, would ask anyone that has any specific, or unusual intolerance to let them know to ensure there is no disappointment’.
So, whether you are looking for a breakfast, morning coffee or afternoon tea with cake or lunch, Jennie’s Kitchen Café has you covered. In a hurry? Food to go? Takeaway is available.
During the summer months, weather permitting , it is possible to sit outside in the charming, sun drenched garden, being fully licensed, makes an idyllic place to eat and drink and pass the day away chatting with friends and family.
Well behaved dogs are welcome with their owners and there may be a dog treat on hand too!
Jennie’s is open daily. It is advisable that on peak days and times to book ahead as tables can be in high demand.
A full traditional afternoon tea can be arranged, which includes a selection of sandwiches, homemade cakes and scones – obviously with clotted cream and jam. ( the question is always, jam or cream first?) Afternoon tea can be created and tailored to suit specific dietary requirements. Please do provide 2 days notice, just so that the staff can ensure everything is ready for when you arrive.
There are two indoor reception areas at “Jennie’s” that can be booked for private events such as birthday meals, funeral wakes, breakfast meetings or simple family gatherings of up to 30 guests. Evenings can be made available on request.
